It's good to know a few trails you can go on the days with unpredictable weather. This one we went to yesterday is one of our favorites, just outside our town by a curvey road for about 15 minutes. It would have been a great opportunity to break my new boots in before we actually climb the peaks, but I was afraid that the trail would be too muddy.
Last time we were on this trail was almost 4 years ago when we cooked some hotdogs over an open fire, which was a nice but stupid idea; as soon as we started the fire, wind picked up and forced us to eat our dogs half done, blackened on the outside and cold inside. I didn't really care, almost anything tastes good over a fire!
I took about 90 shots on this trail yesterday, and I hope you can get a feel of being in the woods from some of them.

My favorites are "Shell Casing" (as we all know I love macro shots), "Curious Cora" (she's beautiful, isn't she?), and "'Can I lie down next to you?'" (waves of soft-looking, beautiful green). Well done, as always. I should find some trails to hike around here. Or better yet, not around here.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't the green make you want to just lie down on it? Too bad I don't have it in my house...
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be several hiking spots in Texas, they look quite diffrent from what we have in the Northeast. They kind of look rocky and more open with great views. You should try them!
